Abstract
There is growing interest from fisheries stakeholders in methods to assess New Zealand fish stocks with low levels of data. This qualitative review gives an overview of data-poor methods in use internationally. I have noted the types of data required for each method, summarised the assumptions required, and, where appropriate, linked to examples of their use. In addition, I have commented on the potential utility of each method in New Zealand.
