Notices, Orders, Regulations and Acts Database (NORA)
NORA (Notices, Orders, Regulations and Acts) is a database of fisheries related legislation, grouped by notices, orders, regulations and Acts. The purpose of this database is to make fisheries law more accessible and transparent, and to enable the Ministry and stakeholders to work together to improve the effectiveness and relevance of the rules, and through that, enhance the value and sustainability of our fisheries.
Using the tabs above, legislation can be broadly searched (browse legislation tab); quick filtered searches by topic can be made (browse by sector tabs); searches of provisions can be made (provision search tab) allowing the user to isolate the individual parts of legislation associated with a particular topic; and terms defined in legislation can be searched (definitions tab).
The majority of legislation on this site is derived from and linked back to the legislation maintained by the Parliamentary Council Office at
www.legislation.govt.nz. You can also view previous versions going back to 2007 by using the "See other versions" option available at the top part of the page while viewing the legislation. Looking for historical legisation?
