Sector Perspectives
The Ministry works with Local Government bodies in a variety of areas, including marine farming, resource and freshwater management and coastal planning.
Our fisheries regions do not line up exactly with Territorial Local Authority boundaries, but they do provide indications of social, cultural, environmental and commercial activity and importance.
We have also included population statistics and will increasingly, over time, add socio-economic information.
