This report describes the 2017 assessment of the two orange roughy stocks on Chatham Rise. For the Northwest Chatham Rise, virgin biomass, B0, was estimated to be between 64 000–67 300 t, and recent biomass was increasing. For the East & South Chatham Rise, B0 was estimated to be between 300 600 and 363 100 t, and recent biomass was increasing. The results of changing various model assumptions (sensitivity runs) are also described.
