Abstract
The random age frequency sampling approach was employed over four seasons from 2017-18 to estimate catch-at-age for snapper from three bottom longline fisheries in SNA 1. Spatio-temporal comparisons revealed good sample representativeness. Catch-at-age distributions in 2017–18 remain relatively broad and similar to the previous sampling year in 2012–13, with good representation across almost all year classes up to 20 years, resulting in high estimates of mean age.
