Ray's Bream is metallic silver on top, and paler underneath. They have prominent gold eyes. Ray's Bream grows to a maximum length of 60 cm.
Knowledge about Ray's Bream is largely based on studies done on Southern Ray's Bream, found in Australia. It is thought that the biology is similar, and maximum age estimates reach 25 years. They are thought to be fast-growing, reaching 40-50 cm in 3-5 years.
Ray's Bream are offshore, midwater fish that are found to depths of 200 m. They are thought to eat small fish and shrimps.
