Length and age composition of northern gemfish (SKI 1) in the 2010 target trawl fishery

Abstract
The 2010 target SKI 1 gemfish trawl fishery operated from mid May to mid June and yielded a catch of approximately 170 t. Sampling of the landed gemfish catch was conducted to determine the length and age composition of the catch. Overall, a high proportion of the total catch was sampled and relatively precise estimates of the age (and length) composition of the catch were attained. The resulting male and female age compositions were comparable to the time-series of age frequency data previously collected from the fishery.
