The 2010 Foveaux Strait blue cod random site potting survey mean catch rate was 4.8 kg.pot-1, c.v.=11.3%. Size ranged from 11 to 56 cm, though few were >40 cm. The mean age was 7.1 years for males and 6.9 years for females and Z ranged from 0.34 to 0.46. SPR was F35%, which is above the target reference point. Concurrent video counts had more small blue cod and a correlation of 0.50 suggests the relationship between catch and count is variable. Blue cod were most associated with sponge habitats.
