Abstract
The 2014 Foveaux Strait blue cod random site potting survey mean catch rate of all blue cod was 7.6 kg.pot-1, c.v.=11.6%. Size ranged from 9 to 46 cm, though few were >40 cm. The mean age was 5.3 years for males and 5.4 years for females and Z ranged from 0.59 to 0.87. SPR was F20%, which is beyond the target reference point and should be of concern. Concurrent video counts had more small blue cod and a variable relationship with subsequent catch from both type 1 and type 2 blue cod survey pots.
