Abstract
 Commercial catch-effort data and fisheries observer records of catch and discards by species provided by the Ministry for Primary Industries were used to estimate the rate and level of fish bycatch and discards in the orange roughy and oreo target trawl fisheries for each fishing year from 2001–02 to 2014–15.
