Trawl and acoustic abundance surveys (2005 to 2014) of orange roughy on the Challenger Plateau (ORH 7A plus Westpac Bank) were reviewed and their results used to redesign both surveys. Recommendations were made for biological and bycatch sampling, and survey protocols.
