Abstract
This report describes developments towards an assessment model for low information stocks using spatially explicit catch, abundance and harvest rate estimates. Generalized Additive Models (GAMs), applied to research trawl survey data and environmental covariates, provided spatial extent and relative spatial density for seven stocks, chosen to include a range of information states. Methods investigated included a spatially explicit risk assessment model and a catch only method
