Abstract
The assessment was age-based and used catch history, proportion-at-age, and acoustic survey biomass estimates. The median mature biomass in 2019 was estimated to be 58% B0 (95% CIs 42–76%). Projections out to 2025 estimated the mature biomass to be at 41% B0 using a catch that equals the average over 2013 to 2019 fishing seasons (21 500 t), but at 20% B0 if the catch was equal to the current TACC (39 200 t).
