This report describes the results of the random-site blue cod (Parapercis colias) potting survey carried out off Kaikōura in December 2019. Estimates are provided for population abundance, size and age structure, sex ratio, total mortality (Z), and spawner biomass-per-recruit ratio. This is the fourth survey in the Kaikōura random-site survey time series, following those in 2011, 2015, and 2017. Results are presented for a concurrent blue cod survey of the Hikurangi Marine Reserve off Kaikōura.
