Abstract
This document describes a new generalised age-structured stock assessment model, called the Stan age-structured dynamics model (Stan-ASD), coded using the Stan statistical programming language. We have tested the code using two examples: the most recent Sub-Antarctic hake and Sub-Antarctic ling stock assessments. The model allows the rapid coding and implementation new ideas/concepts which can be incorporated into other generalised stock assessment software (e.g., CASAL) if deemed useful.
