Abstract
This report provides a review of fisheries and environmental indicators and methods that could be used to monitor and analyse environmental and ecosystem changes, for use in assessing the performance of deepwater fisheries and environments (deeper than 200 m). A suite of indicators are required to monitor and summarise change in ecosystems, and indicators covering climate, oceanographic, primary productivity, food-web, fisheries and fisheries management, the fish community, benthic communities and habitats, and top predators, threatened and endangered species are identified.
